overview
John Lewis tasked Kolorcraft with creating head-turning navigational signage that would attract shoppers to their show-stopping ‘Emporium’ areas. Here, we worked to develop impressive POS displays that would not only get everyone in the Christmas spirit, but would also ramp up the engagement of visiting customers.
Our creative team came up with a range of functional and impactful solutions, including a large-scale 3D sign to point customers in the right direction. We created a rich and vibrant store experience to inspire shoppers with a true festive feeling, complete with a distinctive display of stacked navigational signage blocks to guide the way.
challenges
Every year John Lewis sets its stall out with a brand-new reimagining of the Christmas experience. Their annual Christmas television advert alone has become a highlight of the festive retail season and for many marks the beginning of yuletide. As such, there is an expectation for John Lewis to maintain its position as a trendsetter at the pinnacle of gift-giving retail.
This requires a huge amount of reinvention each year to ensure John Lewis remains one step ahead of its competitors. John Lewis turned to our expertise and market-leading POS credentials to design and produce POS signage and displays that would draw customers to their Emporiums. We don’t like to boast, but the finished product was a real Christmas cracker!

solutions
We also developed a freestanding display of navigational signage blocks to point customers in the direction of key Christmas sections, such as ‘The Trees’ and ‘The Workshop’. Finished in luxurious, attention-grabbing hues of pink, our signage hit the mark for playfulness, functionality and bang-on-brand visual theatre.
Reaching nearly two metres in height, our show-stopping navigational signage blocks featured an ingenious – but easy to construct – design to maintain its structural stability. A folding triangular post simply slotted into the weighted base, providing a sturdy spine for the blocks to stack onto in sequence over the top.

...such a positive visit and it is looking great.
I just wanted to drop you a quick email after getting back from visiting Milton Keynes this morning to see their 'Emporium'.
It was such a positive visit and it is looking great. Kolorcraft got a special call-out from the VM team on-site. Ryan, who looks after the POS in the branch wanted to let me know how super clear everything was that needed construction that came from you guys. He could not be any more positive. Thank you.
we love what we do
